Soccer is a universal game. Canada is a multicultural country. It only makes sense that soccer as a spectator sport should thrive here. Toronto, arguably Canada's most diverse city culturally has been home to the Toronto FC since April of 2007. As if meant to be, soccer in Toronto has exploded. The community has taken to the team like gangbusters. Arguably with the leagues best stadium, BMO Field seats 16,000 including a colourful "supporters section" for those die hards fans and firms alike such as the Red Patch Boys and The Yorkies. For the third straight year, BMO Field has sold out. As a season seat holder myself, there is no better live sporting event in Toronto than the energy and enthusiasm provided by the fans of Canada's only MLS team. Even non-soccer fans have to appreciate the electricity in the air as you enter the stadium and here the stomping of feet from the upper deck. Grab a pint and a chip butty and get ready to join in the excitement. With the newly laid grass for the upcoming 2010 season, BMO Field is officially solidified as Canada's National Stadium. Even the likes of David Beckham will have a hard time disclsoing an "injury" instead of stepping out onto BMO field with the CN Tower and the Toronto sky line behind the East side seats. If Real Madrid's presence last summer was a sign of things to come, then Toronto fans should be elated to see who else of the world's greatest footballers BMO Field attracts as soccer will only continue to grow and thrive in what is a beautiful representation of the unity and passion soccer provides the world.
